Location:
30k’s past Eden on the far south coast
Around 600k’s from Sydney. Travel either through Goldbourn and Canberra, or down the coast road on the Pacific highway. Road into the park is passable in dry conditions, but is rough, unsealed road and not a good idea for 2 wheel drive vehicles in the wet.
Lodging:
Bare camping sites only
Facilities:
Toilets only. Ranger drops in daily in the peak season, less in low season. Information boards on some of the walks. Reuse and recycling centre.
Attractions:
The attraction is in the isolation and the native flora and fauna. Additional attractions are swimming at the beach, Walks along the coast or to Greencape Lighthouse. Fishing is also available.
My Adventure:
I met my siblings who drove up from Melbourne and several family friends. We have been going to the same spot for around 30 years, so decided to meet up there for a short break. We swam every day, walked to a local jump off point. A few went fishing and had some success. It is a long drive from the capital cities, so realistically you should aim for at least a week’s stay. Plenty of wildlife – Goannas, Possums, Wallabies and Birds!
